Allen Sign Studio was started February 6, 1990 by Colby Allen.  The original location was just a block away at 217 East Central Ave.  Colby's parents, Tandy & Corky were invaluable to Colby while getting started and have continued that help to this day.  When Colby was young he watched a family friend,  Jon Ulm, hand letter a helmet and knew that he wanted to do something like that one day.  He was also greatly inspired by Ronnie Seat and Nick Calcagno.  Both men were local artists and teachers who taught and encouraged Colby for many years.  In the early years of the business, Colby hand lettered all signs.  Today he uses that same creativity to produce computer generated signs and graphics.

In 1994 Colby and Debbie were married and she began learning the sign business.  Today she oversees day to day operations within the graphics and accounting areas. 

In 1997, Allen Sign Studio moved to its current location at 307 E Central Ave.  Today they employ eight full and part time staff.  Colby and Debbie feel fortunate to have a talented staff who range in service from 5 to 19 years. 

With a large format digital printer and several vinyl cutters, they can meet all of your sign needs.  Installation and sign maintenance is no problem with their fleet of crane and bucket trucks.  Allen Sign Studio continually strives to be "A Sign of Service" to the Four-State area.

This truly is a family business.  Colby's dad, Tandy has helped with the sign business from the beginning.  He now has his own business that operates at the same location called Allen Portable Sign.  Debbie's brother, Norm joined the company in 2000.  He oversees all of the service and installation, and helps Colby with estimating jobs.  Colby's mom, Corky and Debbie's mom, Judy both work in the office.  Although the other employees are not related, they are still considered family.
